Southwestern Spanish Proverbs
The truly popular proverb in Spanish is the refran. It makes no attempt to teach any sort of lesson. If a lesson results, it is purely coincidental. This includes proverbs of the Spanish-speaking people of New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, and California in their original Spanish versions and with English translations.
