Native Expressions from the American Southwest
"Rain" explores the synergetic relationship between rain and the indigenous peoples of the arid and semi-arid Southwest. It takes an approach to Native American art by tying it directly to the life force of the tribes of the Southwest. It is a glimpse into the arts of southwestern tribes and a shimmering portrait of the desert's oldest miracle.
"Depicted are designs on paintings, pottery, textiles, baskets, kachinas, sculpture, jewelry and even musical instruments, showing the importance of the life-giving rain to these people."
